and I was so awful
yet you didn't do like in the movies
didn't step behind me and show me
how to shoot more than pool
you just stood there
telling me that pool is all about angles
giving me lessons in geometry and english
when I'm only wishing I was a bit more inept
so maybe you'd give me a different kind of lesson
can't you tell from how I'm watching your lips
instead of minding your words
and playing the fool instead of pool
I'm waiting for you to take your shot
